Founded in 2012, The Donut Experiment is a boutique-style donut and coffee shop where the donuts are made right in front of the customers, or for catering events, where the customers pick what goes on their donuts.
At The Donut Experiment, every donut is a creation! They start with a delicious, fresh-made cake donut and then customers pick from their huge selection of icings and toppings.
The Donut Experiment offers a variety of coffee beverages:
They also offer catering services for birthdays, weddings, corporate events, festivals and more! Their catering packages are standardized for orders up to 100 people, but catering packages can be customized for any event.
Real Estate Program: The Donut Experiment has created a complete real estate program. This program will help guide Franchisees, starting with site selection and continuing through build-out. The Donut Experiment Real Estate Program will help Franchisees navigate the site election/build-out process with letter of intent, negotiating a lease, architecture, obtaining permits, selecting a general contractor, the construction management process, and FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment).
Results-focused Marketing Program: The Donut Experiment implements multiple marketing strategies that help to drive customers to your business. They use grassroots marketing, social media, neighborhood marketing promotions, retention campaigns and a structured loyalty program.
Technology Programs: They have advanced yet easy to use systems to help effectively run the business. Their Point-Of-Sale system is a multi-faceted tool that Franchisees can access from anywhere with an Internet connection. It can pinpoint customer habits, track analytics, run reports, manage employees and so much more.
Diverse Offerings: The Donut Experiment provides customers with tiered donut cakes, donut platters, donut holes, coffee boxes and custom orders. They also have a wide selection of beverages to choose from. Their catering packages can be customized for any event and are very popular for birthdays, weddings, corporate events and more.
The candidate we’re looking for has management skills and there is no restaurant experience necessary.
Below are some other desired qualities:
Owner/Operator (“hands-on”): You are front-and-center in the function of the business. You’ll typically work onsite most or all days that the business is open. You directly supervise the staff that is needed to run the shop, and have little time to do much else besides run the franchise, to an extent that other employment is practically impossible.
Semi-Absentee: Passive Income Franchise Ownership. Operational responsibility falls somewhere in between Executive (hands-off) and Owner/Operator (hands-on). Many semi-absentee franchise owners begin by keeping their day jobs/careers and relying on a manager to get their first store off the ground. If the franchisee succeeds with their first unit and decides to open additional ones, running the multi-unit franchise may prove lucrative enough for the semi-absentee owner to leave their day job/career and focus solely on the growing business venture.
