Owner/Operator (“hands-on”): You are front-and-center in the function of the business. You’ll typically work onsite most or all days that the business is open. You directly supervise the staff that is needed to run the shop, and have little time to do much else besides run the franchise, to an extent that other employment is practically impossible.

4) Attend a Discovery Day in person (w/ the spouse if applicable/possible). Spend 24 hours at the national headquarters in Charlottesville, VA to see all the systems, technologies, support teams, culture, etc. in person. This is an experience that you just can’t get over the phone or from phone calls. It’s a true partnership and seeing it in person at Discovery Day is a necessity.
